Following Sasikala’s election as new legislative leader, O Panneerselvam resigned as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Several reports say that Sasikala will crowned as CM on or before February 8th.

AIADMK chief Sasikal Natarajan was unanimously elected legislative party leader. O Panneerselvam proposed her name.

Following the removal a key meet of Party legislators was called at Sasikala’s Poes Garden residence. Her election put an end on calls of taking over as the chief minister.

-O Panneerselvam removes top bureaucrats

Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam removed three top bureaucrats Sheela Balakrishnan, KN Venkataramanan, and A Ramalingam from their posts. While former chief secretary Sheela Balakrishnan was asked to quit as adviser to the Tamil Nadu government, Jayalalithaa loyalists, including KN Venkataramanan and A Ramalingam, the Secretary I and IV in CMO, were also the other top bureaucrats sacked from their posts.
