Red Fort terror attack
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the investigation into the Red Fort terror attack. The Centre has described it as a “terror attack” on Wednesday and assured that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
The white i20 car seen in the CCTV footage was driven by Dr Umar Nabi, a resident of Pulwama, after waiting for nearly three hours in the parking lot adjacent to the Red Fort. He was 32 years old and was employed at Al-Falah University. However, the university administration has distanced itself from the “white-collar” terror module, stating that they were only involved with the accused in a professional capacity. The university has also assured that it will cooperate with the investigative agencies.
Police in Haryana have found a red Ford EcoSport, which belongs to Dr Umar Nabi, from a farmhouse in Haryana’s Khandawali village. Forensic and ballistic experts are currently examining the vehicle for potential evidence, The Indian Express reported
