Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration Holiday Full List Latest News: With only a few hours remaining for the eagerly anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla at the grand Ayodhya temple in Uttar Pradesh on January 22, several central government establishments, public sector banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, and regional rural banks (RRBs) across the nation will be closed for half a day. Additionally, central educational institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia and its affiliated schools, along with Delhi University, will observe a half-day closure until 2:30 p.m. Furthermore, both the NSE and BSE stock exchanges will experience a trading holiday on the same date.

In line with the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several states have declared a dry day. Many have announced a full-day holiday, while some states have opted for half-day holidays on January 21. Banks and money markets have also taken a break to celebrate the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.

Here’s the complete list of states with complete public holidays:

Uttar Pradesh: The state will be at the center of the January 22 celebrations. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared a full public holiday, resulting in the closure of all schools, colleges, and other educational institutions, along with government offices. CM Yogi encourages the people of UP to celebrate January 22 as a second Diwali.

Goa: In addition to Uttar Pradesh, Goa has also declared a full public holiday on January 22. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant mentioned that the state administration recognizes the national enthusiasm for Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha, leading to the closure of schools and government offices on January 22.

Chhattisgarh: The BJP-ruled state government has announced a complete public holiday on January 22. According to official communication, all schools, both government and private, will remain closed on the occasion of the Pran Pratishtha event.

Haryana: The government under Manohar Lal Khattar has announced the closure of all schools in the state on January 22. Additionally, the state government has imposed a ban on the consumption of alcohol on the day of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

Chandigarh:In view of the ‘Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha’ the UT administration has declared a complete holiday on January 22.

List of states that have announced half-day holiday on January 22:

Odisha: The Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha has declared a half-day closure of all government offices and courts on January 22 until 2:30 pm. However, there is no information about the closure of educational institutions in the state on that day.

Delhi: Government-run schools in Delhi will be closed on Monday to observe the celebrations of the Ram Mandir’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya. Evening schools, however, will operate from 2:30 pm onwards. Additionally, there will be a half-day closure of all government offices, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), autonomous bodies, undertakings, and boards to mark the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Gujarat: The Bhupendrabhai Patel government in Gujarat has announced that government offices will remain closed until 2:30 pm on January 22. While this does not constitute a public holiday, it signifies a half-day closure. No official circular has been issued regarding the closure of schools and colleges.

Madhya Pradesh: In alignment with the central government’s directive for a half-day closure of offices, the Madhya Pradesh administration has also declared the closure of government offices and other institutions across the state until 2:30 pm.

Tripura: The state of Tripura has announced a half-day closure of government offices, schools, and colleges on January 22 until 2:30 pm.

Assam: The Himanta Biswa Sarma government in Assam has declared a partial holiday on January 22. All government offices, schools, and colleges will remain closed until 2:30 pm.

Rajasthan: Rajasthan is among the states that have announced a partial holiday on January 22.

Jharkhand: Following directives from Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the state of Jharkhand has declared a holiday for government schools on Monday. Additionally, offices, establishments, and public sector banks will remain closed for half a day, with all government offices shutting down until 2:30 pm.

Uttarakhand: All educational institutions and government offices in Uttarakhand will remain closed until 2:30 pm.

Jammu and Kashmir: The J&K government has announced half-day public holiday on January 22.

Are Banks and the Money Market closed?

Following an RBI circular released on Friday, money markets will open at 2:30 pm instead of the usual 9 am on January 22. Due to the half-day closure announced by the Government of India on January 22, the trading hours for various RBI-regulated markets have been reduced by approximately 4-5 hours.

The operations of all markets regulated by the RBI, such as market repo in government securities, tri-party repo in government securities, commercial paper and certificate of deposits, forex derivatives, etc., will be conducted between 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm.
