Weeks after the Porsche car accident that killed two, the administration in Maharashtra’s Satara district on Saturday demolished illegal structures in a resort in Mahabaleshwar owned by the family of the 17-year-old boy, who allegedly was behind the wheels of the luxury car. Officials razed unauthorized constructions within the MPG Club, owned by the family, located in the Malkam Peth area of Mahabaleshwar.
The incident, which occurred on May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, resulted in the tragic death of two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh.
The alleged involvement of the juvenile, reportedly driving the Porsche while intoxicated, drew widespread attention and led to the arrest of several people, including his father and grandfather.
The demolition of the illegal portions of the resort follows Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s directive to Satara collector Jitendra Dudi to take action if any irregularities were found. Last week, the establishment was sealed by the administration prior to the demolition.
The juvenile’s grandfather is currently in judicial custody for allegedly coercing the family’s driver to take responsibility for the crash.
The teenager’s parents are in jail for their suspected role in tampering with blood samples collected for alcohol consumption testing during the investigation.
