Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor delivered a striking message in Bhitiharwa, West Champaran, on Friday while unveiling his ambitious plan aimed at reshaping Bihar’s future. Speaking to the media after a day-long silent fast at Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran, he said that “all those who were lured” and everyone who had received the first instalment of Rs 10,000 must be protected from getting lost in government paperwork.

He promised that after January 15, his team would visit every home to help people fill out the required forms so they could access the full Rs 2 lakh benefit.

“All those people who were lured and given the first instalment of Rs 10,000 – it is now the responsibility of Jan Suraaj to reach all of those individuals and ensure that they do not get tangled in govt system…After 15th Jan, we will go to each and every household and make them fill the form so that they get Rs 2 Lakh,” Kishor said.

He said that the Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Abhiyan would be kick-started soon, marking a new phase in his outreach across the state.

Jan Suraaj pushes Bihar welfare offer: Kishor to give 90% earnings, visit every household

Kishor went on to announce that he would donate at least 90% of everything he earns over the next five years to this initiative. He also said that except for one house in Delhi for his family, he is giving away all the assets he has built in the last two decades.

He also urged the people of Bihar to contribute as well, asking them to donate at least Rs 1,000 to Jan Suraaj. Kishor said this campaign would not stop due to lack of money and that together, Bihar could build a stronger and more equal future. “This initiative will not stop due to lack of money,” he said.

Kishor on Bihar’s new cabinet

Prashant Kishor said the new cabinet formed under Nitish Kumar, which took oath on Thursday, is filled with “corrupts and criminal”. He said this group of ministers is “a slap on the face of the people of Bihar”.

Kishor also argued that the choice of ministers shows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are not giving proper attention to the needs and concerns of Bihar. “It’s like rubbing salt on the wound as several corrupt leaders were inducted,” he alleged.
