The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid a lot of emphasis on health. Pegging it on 7th April, which has been declared as the World Health Day by the United Nations, he said the focus will be on depression, which is a new age disease. He pointed out that depression can be a root cause of many mental and physical ailments, just as diabetes can be the root cause of all sorts of diseases, depression too, destroys all our abilities to sustain, fight, to display courage and to take a decision. Your friends, family and surroundings all can prevent you from going into depression and if you, unfortunately have gone into it, they can also pull you out of it.
According to one estimate, more than 35 crore people suffer from depression. He further said that depression is not incurable. There is a need to create a psychologically conducive environment to begin with.

Friends, family and milieu can bring you out of depression. so he suggested that we should serve those who are sad and get over our depression. He suggested Yoga as another panacea for overcoming depression.
He further said that UN has resolved to provide universal health coverage for all by 2030.
