Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a major roadshow in Ahmedabad on Monday evening (May 26) following the success of Operation Sindoor. The roadshow is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm tomorrow, starting from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and proceeding towards Indira Bridge. Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, the Ahmedabad Traffic Police have issued an advisory, urging the public to avoid the route from Dafnala to Airport Circle to Indira Bridge from 3 pm onwards.
Traffic Police issued the advisory on Saturday outlining road closures, alternate routes and public instructions. The restrictions will remain in effect from 4 pm to 9 pm on May 26.
Road closures and alternative routes to take
As per the notification issued by Ahmedabad Commissioner of Police GS Malik, key stretches near the airport will be closed. The road between Airport to Airport Circle and up to Apollo Circle will be completely shut.
- Commuters heading from Indira Bridge to Gandhinagar should detour via Nobel Nagar T-junction → Nana Chiloda → Apollo Circle
- For those traveling from Indira Bridge to Dafnala, the suggested route is via Nobel Nagar T-junction → Naroda Patiya → FSL Crossroads
- Travelers going from Apollo Circle to Shahibaug can take Tapovan Circle → Prabodhraval Circle → Subhash Bridge Circle
- The road between Dafnala Circle and Airport Circle will be shut. Alternate routes include Subhash Bridge Circle → Chimanbhai Patel Bridge → Tapovan Circle or Ghevar Circle → FSL Crossroads → Rameshwar → Naroda Patiya → Nana Chiloda
Alternate route for daily Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar commuters
Daily commuters between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar are likely to face delays due to the road closures. To avoid congestion, authorities have suggested alternate routes. Travelers can take the route via Subhash Bridge to Visat and continue onward to Tapovan Circle. Another suggested route for those starting from Dafnala is to proceed to Rameshwar, then head through Naroda Patiya and Nana Chiloda to reach Gandhinagar.
Airport advisory
With the road between Dafnala and the airport being highly restricted, air travelers departing between 6 pm and 9 pm are advised to leave two hours early. Passengers must carry their flight tickets for verification at checkpoints. Access to the airport is allowed only for verified vehicles. Travelers can use the Hansol Circle → Pristine Hotel route to reach the airport.
