Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stated that the recent elections have reaffirmed the message of development while rejecting the politics of lies and betrayal promoted by the Congress and its allies.
Speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters, PM Modi highlighted that the Maharashtra election and bypolls in various states have delivered a decisive blow to divisive forces, negative politics, and dynastic practices.
He remarked that the people of Maharashtra have chosen stability and sent a clear message to those attempting to foster instability.
He emphasised that the Maharashtra election reflects a call for unity and stands as an endorsement of the slogan “ek hai toh safe hai”.
PM Modi also expressed his gratitude to the people of Jharkhand, pledging that the BJP will push its efforts to drive the state’s development forward.
“‘Ek hai toh safe hai’ has become the ‘maha-mantra’ for the entire nation and it has punished those who wanted to divide the country on caste and religious lines,” he said, adding that all sections of the society have voted for the BJP.
“The Congress and its ecosystem had thought that by spreading lies in the name of the Constitution, they could divide the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) in small groups. This is a solid slap on their faces,” he said.
“People have made divisive forces bite the dust. The Congress and its allies have failed to grasp the changed realities of the country’s mood,” the prime minister added.
He asserted that voters prioritise stability and place the nation above all else, rejecting those fixated on personal power and the pursuit of “chair first.”
He further noted that the people of Maharashtra judged the Congress based on its unfulfilled promises in other states such as Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh.
