Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the nation on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he conveyed his best wishes to the people, marking the significance of the day.
“Many best wishes to all the countrymen on Hindi Diwas,” PM Modi shared, underscoring the importance of the language in fostering national unity.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended heartfelt greetings, emphasising the value of all Indian languages. In a message posted on X, he said, “All Indian languages are our pride and heritage. Without enriching them, we cannot move forward. Official language Hindi has an unbreakable relationship with every Indian language.” Shah further highlighted that Hindi has played a vital role in public communication and national unity for 75 years.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of Hindi as the official language of India, making the occasion especially significant. Amit Shah reflected on the language’s journey since September 14, 1946, when Hindi was adopted by the Constituent Assembly.
In his video address, Shah stressed that Hindi complements all local languages, stating, “Whether it is Gujarati, Marathi, or Telugu, every language gives strength to Hindi, and Hindi gives strength to every language.” He further acknowledged the efforts made under PM Modi’s leadership to promote Hindi and local languages globally.
The Union Minister also announced the launch of an upcoming translation portal, which will leverage Artificial Intelligence to convert Hindi into all languages listed in the Eighth Schedule, making translations faster and more accessible.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated annually on September 14, commemorating the adoption of Hindi as one of the nation’s official languages.
