In a blistering attack on the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused its leaders of widespread corruption and vowed to take strict action if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins the upcoming elections in Jharkhand. Addressing a large rally in Bokaro, Jharkhand, the PM said that the JMM leaders were amassing wealth through illegal activities like sand mining and paper leak scams, and promised to bring them to justice. ” Their (JMM) leaders are earning crores of money through sand mining. From them, mountains of notes have been discovered…from where did these notes come? Isn’t this your money? Isn’t this the money looted from you?” Modi asked the crowd.
The Prime Minister further promised that once the BJP-led government is formed in the state, strict measures would be taken against the accused. “I want to promise you that once the government is formed, these corrupt people will face the strictest punishment. We will take this fight to the courts,” Modi asserted. “Your money will be spent on you only.”
Modi also took aim at what he described as the “paper leak mafia” and “recruitment mafia” allegedly nurtured by the JMM-Congress coalition. The Prime Minister accused the ruling party of ruining the future of young people in Jharkhand by manipulating recruitment processes and leaking exam papers, thereby depriving deserving candidates of opportunities.
“We have one more goal in Jharkhand – the paper leak mafia and recruitment mafia created by the JMM-Congress. They will be attacked. Each one of them will be found and put in jail,” Modi declared, promising that the BJP would work relentlessly to dismantle these syndicates if it came to power.
Giving out a sharp warning, the PM added, “Those who tampered with the future of youths in Jharkhand, Modi will destroy their plans.”
Modi’s remarks come as part of his ongoing election campaign in Jharkhand, where the BJP is looking to regain power from the JMM-led alliance. The state has witnessed a rise in corruption-related allegations in recent years, with opposition parties accusing the ruling government of mismanaging resources and failing to create adequate job opportunities for the youth.
Modi also highlighted the recent oath taken by Omar Abdullah, Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister, stating it was a historic moment as it was taken in the name of the Indian Constitution for the first time. He called this a tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution. Modi further accused Congress and its allies of seeking to restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which would bring back terrorism and jeopardize the safety of Indian soldiers. He claimed the BJP-led government had “buried” Article 370, ensuring Ambedkar’s Constitution was enforced. Modi also stressed the need for a BJP government in Jharkhand to protect the state from infiltrators.
