Mumbai and Assam Police teams visited the residence of popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on Friday as part of their probe into controversial remarks made on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. However, they found his Versova flat locked and were unable to reach him, as his phone was switched off, PTI quoted a police official as saying.
Allahbadia, popularly known for his BeerBiceps channel, came under fire for obscene remarks about parents and sex during his appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s show on YouTube. Following his remarks, Allahbadia was slapped with two FIRs against him, one in Mumbai and another in Assam.
A police official stated that Allahbadia had been summoned to appear at Khar police station on Thursday, but after failing to do so, a second summon was issued for Friday. However, he requested that the police record his statement at his residence, a request that was denied.
With no sign of Allahbadia, both Mumbai and Assam police teams returned to Khar police station. Earlier, the YouTuber approached the Supreme Court, seeking clubbing of multiple FIRs filed against him.
