In a major security lapse, a man entered the Parliament House on Friday morning by climbing a tree and scaling the boundary wall. The incident took place around 6:30 am.

Officials said the intruder reached the Garuda Gate of the new Parliament building after jumping over the wall from the Rail Bhavan side. He was immediately caught by security personnel and is currently being interrogated.

The breach comes just a day after the monsoon session of Parliament concluded, which saw frequent disruptions overshadowing legislative business. According to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the session that began on July 21 included 21 sittings, with 37 hours and 7 minutes of effective work.

This is not the first such incident. Last year, a man in his early 20s scaled the Parliament wall and entered the Annexe building premises. A video of that incident showed him wearing shorts and a T-shirt, being restrained by CISF personnel. Nothing suspicious was found on him during the frisking.
