A fight over a seat on the Begampura Express train turned deadly on Thursday. A 24-year-old man named Tauhid lost his life, and his two brothers were seriously hurt. The incident happened between Lucknow and Nihalgarh stations while the train was traveling from Jammu to Varanasi.
Tauhid, from Maderikan, was returning home from Ambala when he got into an argument with some youths from Gautampur village over a seat. The argument quickly escalated, and the group attacked Tauhid with a knife and an iron rod, leaving him critically injured.
Before passing away, Tauhid managed to call his family, and his brothers, Talib (20) and Tausif (27), rushed to Nihalgarh station. However, the attackers also assaulted them. Talib was sent to a trauma center in Lucknow, while Tausif is receiving treatment locally.
Police have arrested the attackers, and the investigation is ongoing. Tauhid’s body has been sent for a postmortem.
