A disturbing video showing a man in his 70s being dragged by two individuals at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district has surfaced online. The incident occurred on April 17 when Uddhav Singh Joshi visited the district hospital for his wife’s medical check-up. Joshi alleged that after waiting in line for a long time, he was assaulted by a doctor when his turn finally arrived.

“I waited in the queue with my time slot slip. When my turn came, Dr Rajesh Mishra slapped and kicked me without reason,” Joshi claimed.

However, hospital officials initially offered a different account. Civil surgeon Dr GL Ahirwar said the hospital was overcrowded and that Dr Mishra objected because Joshi had allegedly skipped the queue. After facing public outrage and with politicians also jumping into the incident, the hospital authorities swung into action.

An NDTV report quoted Dr Ahirwar admitting that the incident occurred at the hospital two days ago. “Initially, the doctor claimed the patient behaved indecently. However, the video clearly shows unacceptable and shameful conduct by the doctor. We immediately ordered a departmental inquiry. A notice has been issued, and inquiry committee members are on their way,” Dr Ahirwar told NDTV. He further added that the hospital administration is looking into the matter and strict punishment will be given to the doctor.
