The new Jharkhand Cabinet is set to be sworn in at the Raj Bhawan on Thursday, December 5, with the ceremony scheduled for 12.30 pm.
Governor Santosh Gangwar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to 11 ministers expected to join the JMM-led coalition government. The swearing-in comes exactly a week after Chief Minister Hemant Soren took his oath on November 28.
“Eleven ministers are likely to take oath of the JMM-led coalition government on December 5 around 12 noon,” the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader told PTI.
Soren, who was sworn in for a second consecutive term as Chief Minister, now holds the distinction of serving as CM for the fourth time—a first in the state’s 24-year history.
During last week’s ceremony at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi, Soren was the only Cabinet member to take the oath, also administered by Governor Gangwar.
In the recently concluded Jharkhand Assembly elections, the JMM-led alliance secured a decisive majority with 56 of the 81 seats, while the BJP-led NDA managed to win 24 seats.
