The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has called Bihar Bandh on September 4 to protest against the abuses directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother at opposition’s ‘voter adhikar rally’. A man had used cuss words against the Prime Minister and his mother while on the stage during the opposition’s event.
The man was later arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed Congress and RJD and sought an apology from Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav.
On Tuesday, PM Modi asked what wrong has his mother done that she was insulted in a rally. ““Mother is our world, mother is our pride. In this prosperous, tradition-rich Bihar, what happened a few days ago, I had never even imagined. Neither I nor my brothers from Bihar could have imagined this,” the PM said.
The ruling alliance in Bihar has decided to go for state-wide bandh on Thursday against the abuses hurled at PM Modi and his mother.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed pain over the abuses hurled at his mother during in Bihar, and asserted that he may forgive RJD and Congress, but people of the state would never pardon them.
The PM was addressing a gathering in Delhi while virtually inaugurating a new cooperative for the women associated with self-help groups in Bihar.
“My late mother had nothing to do with politics, so what was her fault; why was she abused?” he asked. “Bihar is the land of Maa Janki… it has always given respect to women. This is the land where Chhath Puja is celebrated. My mother was abused from the dais of RJD and Congress… I had never imagined such a thing would happen… it was an insult to the mothers and daughters of Bihar… people of the state will never forgive them,” the Prime Minister added.
“I am my mother’s son… I am sharing my pain with you,” he further added.
Intensifying his attack at the opposition parties, he said his mother was nothing for those who insult ‘Mother India’, and that they should be punished.
