Mumbai police arrested two people in Punjab in connection with the recent shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra.

The suspects, identified as Subhash Chander (37) and Anuj Thapan (32), allegedly provided weapons and ammunition to the shooters on March 15, according to an official, reports PTI. A Crime Branch team from northern Punjab apprehended both the suspects, and they are being brought to Mumbai for further proceedings.

Chander and Thapan will appear in court on Friday. The police said that they travelled to Panvel, located in Raigad district near Mumbai, on March 15 to deliver two country-made pistols and 38 live rounds to the arrested shooters, Sagar Pal (21) and Vicky Gupta (24).

Thw Mumbai court extended the custody of Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, both residents of Bihar, until April 29. They were arrested following allegations that they fired shots outside Salman Khan’s residence at the Galaxy Apartment in Bandra on April 14 and fled on a motorcycle.

Gupta and Pal were apprehended on April 16 from Mata No Madh village in Gujarat’s Kutch district. A subsequent search operation led to the recovery of two pistols, magazines, and bullets from the Tapi river in Gujarat, believed to be the weapons used in the shooting.

Lawrence Bishnoi, a convicted gangster, and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi have been identified as wanted suspects in the case by the Mumbai police.
