In a significant breakthrough in the firing case outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s house, the Mumbai Crime Branch has recovered evidence implicating gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi as the main conspirators. Consequently, both individuals have been elevated to the status of the most wanted suspects in the case.

A case has been registered by the Mumbai police against four individuals, including Anmol Bishnoi and Lawrence Bishnoi.

According to the Mumbai Crime Branch investigation, before the shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s house, the shooters carried out surveillance outside Khan’s house four times and his farmhouse once. Since Salman hadn’t visited his farmhouse for weeks, they opted to fire at his house instead.

Upon the arrest of the accused, a broken mobile phone was recovered from them, stated the Mumbai Crime Branch. They added that the accused had more than one phone, and now the Crime Branch is searching for the remaining phones as well.

Earlier, the Crime Branch reported the retrieval of a second pistol from the Tapi River in Surat. Alongside the pistol, they recovered four magazines and 17 rounds.

This follows the discovery of a pistol on April 22. The Crime Branch traced shooter Vicky Gupta’s footprints from Mumbai to Bhuj in Gujarat, where the gunmen disposed of the weapon and magazines into the Tapi River near Surat.

Police are now combing the river for the accused’s phones, as they had made several bank transfers.

On April 14, two bike-borne assailants on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan resides, at around 5.00 am. CCTV footage revealed both wore caps and carried backpacks.

In connection with the case, Kutch Police has already apprehended two suspects, subsequently handing them over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. A city court then remanded them into custody till April 25.

Charges under IPC Sections 506(2) (threatening), 115 (abetment), and 201 (tampering with evidence) have been pressed in the case. Mumbai Crime Branch officials have declared gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi as wanted in connection with the incident.

Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting outside Salman Khan’s residence in a Facebook post following the attack.
