At least 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received bomb threats via email on Wednesday morning, police officials said. Police said the Delhi Public School’s (DPS) Dwarka and Vasant Kunj units, Mother Mary School in East Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School, Amity School in Pushp Vihar, and DAV School in South West Delhi received bomb threats via email, leading to the evacuation of school premises.
The threat to DPS Dwarka was received at 6 am. Police officials said that a thorough search of the school premises revealed nothing suspicious. Furthermore, Delhi public schools’ Noida units in Sector 29 and Sector 122 have also been shut as a precautionary measure. Parents were asked to pick their wards from school due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

Similar evacuation and searches took place at Mother Mary School, Sanskriti School, Amity School, and DPS Noida.
Preliminary investigations suggest that bomb threats targeting several Delhi schools were transmitted via email. The originating IP addresses suggest they were generated from outside India, raising suspicions that VPNs may have been used to mask the true locations. However, security agencies, including Delhi Police Special Cell, are looking to find the actual source of the emails.
DCP South West Rohit Meena, responding to the bomb threats sent to Delhi-NCR, said, “We received information that the same email was sent to several schools around 4:15 am. We took action and made the decision to close the schools and send the students back home. Checking is underway at all the schools, and our technical wing is investigating the email.”
“Through the initial investigation, it seems that this is a mass email… I want to request the students and parents to remain calm and not to panic. We are getting each and every school checked and are in contact with the school administration…” Meena added.
In response to the bomb threat, Kamini, principal of Delhi Public School, Noida, stated, “We received a mail regarding a bomb. We have students so we can’t take the risk. We informed the police. The parents have been informed and the students have been sent back to their homes.”

However, upon thorough inspection, nothing suspicious was found, leading authorities to conclude that it was a hoax call.A bomb detection team, bomb disposal squad, and officials from the Delhi Fire Service have been rushed to the school, where a search operation is currently underway, a police officer said.
“In the initial investigation, since yesterday, many schools across Delhi have received emails. A same pattern was followed to send threat mails. Dateline is not mentioned… BCC is mentioned in the e-mail and hence it is clear that one email has been sent to many places,” the police said, as ANI reported.
“Many schools have received bomb threats. We are investigating all the threats and further probe into the matter is underway,” the police added.
