BJP denies pickpocketing claims, says wallet was misplaced, later found
On Tuesday, the BJP refuted claims that actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty’s purse was stolen during a rally in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad, clarifying instead that it had been misplaced and subsequently recovered. The incident occurred while Chakraborty was addressing a rally in the Nirsa assembly constituency in support of BJP candidate Aparna Sengupta.
“There was no case of pickpocketing. The purse was misplaced and later found,” said BJP’s Dhanbad district president Ghanshyam Grover to PTI.
