Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday expressed immense pride and joy as he hailed the Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The inauguration of the Ram Mandir took place on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducting the rituals.

Addressing the state-level Republic Day function at Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi, Kejriwal said that his government aims to govern the city in accordance with the “definition of Ram Rajya as given in the Ramayana.”

The Delhi Chief Minister pointed out the significance of imbibing the principles that “Lord Ram exemplified”.

Furthermore, Kejriwal announced that his government would facilitate pilgrimages to the recently-inaugurated Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. “We have so far organised teerth yatras for more than 83,000 senior citizens; since the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla, many requests have come to organise pilgrimages to Ayodhya; we will do this soon and take as many people there as possible,” he said.

Highlighting the principles of equality and inclusivity, Kejriwal remarked that Lord Ram never discriminated on the basis of caste and religion. However, he acknowledged the existing societal divisions along these lines.

Kejriwal reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing key issues, such as ensuring that nobody goes to bed hungry and providing quality education and healthcare for all. While acknowledging that there is still progress to be made, he expressed confidence in the city moving steadily towards these objectives.
