Actor Dileep, who has been at the receiving end of social media rants that hint at his involvement in the Malayalam actress molestation case, chose to speak out loud and clear to his fans at a public function related to his upcoming film.
“I am deeply saddened by what has happened to my colleague in the film industry but I am stricken by the allegations that are being falsely targeted at me in connection with what has happened. Rumours were targeting me and I realised that the ‘quotation’ target in this case is actually me – the target is to tarnish my name and create doubts about my work and integrity with my fans,” Actor Dileep stated, in an emotional, choked voice.

“I am here because of you – my fans. You are the reason I am in this industry and therefore, the only people to whom I can tell the truth. It is only to my fans that I owe any explanation. The spate of allegations started when a prominent mainstream media house based in Mumbai published a report that targeted me and hinted at my involvement in this case. Following the report, many other yellow journalism rags spiced it up and the false news began to spread across – I had no idea that I had enemies till I realised that I am being targeted,” he stated.

“I swear upon Lord Jagannath that I have done nothing wrong and I am being punished and targeted for sins that I did not commit. I want to be truthful to my fans and my audience, that is all,” the actor said.
