A woman allegedly killed her three-year-old daughter following an argument with her husband in Nagpur, Maharashtra. She then reportedly walked around the streets with the body for 4 kilometres before notifying the police, officials said on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the incident occured on Monday evening within the MIDC police station jurisdiction.

The accused has been identified as Twinkle Raut (23). She moved to Nagpur with her husband, Rama Laxman Raut aged 24, four years ago in search of employment, PTI reported.
The couple worked at a paper products company and lived in a room on the firm’s premises on Hingna Road in the MIDC area. According to the police, their relationship was marked by frequent quarrels stemming from mutual distrust.

On Monday, the two had another fight at around 4 pm, the official from MIDC police station said. During the heated argument, their daughter started crying. In a fit of rage, the woman took her daughter outside and allegedly strangled her to death under a tree.
She then roamed around with the body for nearly four kilometres. Around 8 pm, she saw a police patrol vehicle and informed the officers about what had happened. The police rushed the child to a hospital, but the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The MIDC police subsequently arrested the woman and charged her under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, he said. She was later brought before a court, which remanded her to police custody until May 24, the official added.
