Maharashtra local body election results date and time: The first phase of polling for the Maharashtra local body elections concluded on December 2, while voting for the second phase is currently in progress. 

The results of all local body elections will be declared on December 21. Voters can check the results on the official websites of the State Election Commission at mahasec.maharashtra.gov.in and mahasecelec.in.

Following directions from the Bombay High Court and the State Election Commission (SEC), the vote counting schedule and result declaration date were unified across the state. The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay HC directed the SEC to announce all results on December 21 so that outcomes from early phases do not influence voters in areas where polling was held later.

Maharashtra local body polls 2025 results: Phase 1 election overview

The first phase of elections covered 264 municipal councils and nagar panchayats. The main political contest is between the Mahayuti alliance and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. 

Voting was conducted using electronic voting machines (EVMs). Nearly one crore voters were eligible to participate in this phase of the multi-level rural and urban local body elections, which, as per Supreme Court directions.

Maharashtra local body polls 2025: How to check results

To check the results, voters can visit the official SEC website for live updates. The results can also be tracked through the “True Voter” app or the dedicated SEC Maharashtra mobile app, which provide ward-wise updates. 

In addition, results are displayed at counting centres such as tehsil offices and designated schools or halls as each round of counting is completed.

Upcoming municipal corporation polls 

The State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday, announced that elections for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), will be conducted in a single phase on January 15, 2026. The results of these civic polls will be declared the following day, on January 16.

The long-awaited announcement comes about a month after the SEC declared the schedule for Nagar Parishad and Nagar Panchayat elections, which were notified in line with the Supreme Court’s directive to complete all local body elections in Maharashtra before January 31.
