Mahayuti Maharashtra manifesto: Just weeks before the Maharashtra Assembly polls, the Mahayuti alliance unveiled its highly anticipated manifesto on Tuesday, presenting a roadmap focused on driving “unprecedented prosperity and development” in the state.
The 288-member state is set to vote in a single phase on November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, launched the manifesto at a public gathering in Kolhapur North. The alliance, which includes the BJP, Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, highlighted its commitment to transformative growth and a forward-looking vision for Maharashtra’s future.
Central to the manifesto is a ten-point agenda designed to foster a prosperous Maharashtra, addressing economic relief for farmers, youth employment, women’s safety, and social security for senior citizens. A significant proposal is the increase in monthly allowances for women under the “Ladki Bahin” scheme from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100, along with the recruitment of 25,000 new police officers to bolster women’s safety.
Farmers stand to gain from a comprehensive loan waiver and an annual support boost to Rs 15,000 under the “Shetkari Sanman Yojna,” along with a 20 percent subsidy on the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
For senior citizens, the manifesto pledges an increased monthly pension of Rs 2,100, affirming the alliance’s commitment to supporting dignified living in later years.
The manifesto also addresses fundamental needs, pledging stable prices for essential commodities and measures to maintain affordable access to basic necessities. This aim to provide security and accessibility reflects a broader vision of improved living standards and stability for all citizens.
To combat unemployment, the alliance promises the creation of 25 lakh jobs, with monthly stipends of Rs 10,000 for training 10 lakh students. Additionally, the manifesto highlights an investment in rural infrastructure with plans to pave roads in 45,000 villages. Anganwadi and ASHA workers are set to see their monthly salaries increase to Rs 15,000, alongside enhanced insurance coverage.
In the energy sector, the manifesto proposes a 30 percent reduction in electricity bills, combined with a push toward renewable energy sources, aiming for household relief and environmental sustainability.
Under “Vision Maharashtra 2029,” the alliance promises a comprehensive roadmap within the first 100 days of forming the government, charting a long-term developmental vision for the state.
