BJP’s Shivendraraje Abhaysinhraje Bhonsle won the Satara seat by a large margin of over 1 lakh votes. He defeated Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Shraddha Amit Genuji Kadam, securing 176,849 votes after 24 rounds of counting.
Satara is one of the 288 Assembly constituencies in Maharashtra, located in the western part of the state. It is a rural area in the Satara district and has a general reservation status. Satara is also part of the Satara Lok Sabha constituency.
The election took place on November 20, 2024, and the results were announced on November 23, 2024.
Shivendraraje Abhaysinhraje Bhonsle, aged 51, is a candidate from the BJP and has a 12th-grade education. He has six legal cases against him. His total assets are worth Rs 128.4 Crore, including Rs 50.1 Crore in movable assets and Rs 78.3 Crore in immovable assets. He also has liabilities amounting to Rs 10.3 Crore. Besides being an MLA, he is involved in agriculture, business, and renting.
