MP Election Result 2023: The Bharatiya Janata Party looks headed for a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan eyeing a possible fourth term as chief minister, as per the early trends shared by the Election Commission. 

According to the latest figures available on the Election Commission’s official website, the ruling BJP is ahead in 157 of the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress is leading in 71 seats.

In Budhni assembly constituency, Shivraj Singh Chouhan heads for a massive sixth win with a lead of over 36,000 votes in two rounds of counting. His rival candidate from Congress, Vikram Mastal, secured just over 7,000 votes till 12 PM.

On the other hand, Kamal Nath of Congress is leading over BJP’s Vivek Sahu by 5978 votes in Chhindwara after two rounds of counting. In the state capital, Indore, BJP’s Kailash Vijayvargiya is leading over Sanjay Shukla of Congress by 42681 votes after the first round of counting.

Moreover, in Dimani, BJP’s Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar was leading over BSP’s Balveer Dandotiya by 2021 votes after two rounds of counting of votes.

Assembly Election Results 2023

In the early trends, the BJP has an edge in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, while Congress takes the lead in Telangana. As the Assembly results are being billed as a semi-final of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, all eyes are on the fight between the Congress and the BJP. 

As per data available with a leading TV channel, BJP is leading on 161 seats in MP, 55 seats in Chhattisgarh and 109 in Rajasthan, while Congress is leading in 66 seats in Telangana.
