Chhattisgarh CM Oath Ceremony Highlights: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prominent tribal leader in the state, Vishnu Deo Sai has taken oath as the chief minister of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday afternoon in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party chief JP Nadda at the Science College ground in Raipur. Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma have been sworn in as the deputy chief ministers.
The saffron party’s decision to pick Sai (59), who is a four-time Lok Sabha MP and three-time state BJP chief, as its CM face in Chhattisgarh came as another surprise, with the party picking fresh faces instead of seasoned leaders. A similar trend was seen in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan as well. Vishnu Deo Sai won from the Kunkuri Assembly seat in the 2023 Chhattisgarh elections.
Earlier in the day, the Hindi heartland, Madhya Pradesh, got its 19th chief minister as Mohan Yadav took oath along with two deputy CMs, Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda, on Wednesday morning.

Former Union minister Vishnu Deo Sai has been selected as the new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh by the BJP leadership. The swearing-in ceremony in Bhopal concluded after the new Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and deputy chief ministers Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda were inducted.
BJP leaders Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla were sworn in as the deputy chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.
Mohan Yadav took oath as the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday amid the presence of Governor Mangubhai C Patel.
Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, outgoing Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan showed confidence in the new CM and said that he would "take MP's development and people's welfare to new heights".
He also welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah who have reached Bhopal to attend the ceremony.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde arrived in Bhopal to attend the swearing-in ceremony and said that it was "a moment of great happiness".

Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia reached Bhopal on Wednesday morning to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
After taking over the CM office on Wednesday, Mohan Yadav will become Bharatiya Janata Party's fifth chief minister in Madhya Pradesh. He will be following in the footsteps of veteran leaders like Sunderlal Patwa, Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan with Chouhan having been in the position for over 18 years.
