Domestic cooking gas cylinder will now cost R11.42 more following the government’s decision to hike dealers? commission.

A 14.2-kg LPG cylinder in the national capital will now cost R410.42 against R399 earlier. The hike comes close on the heels of the government deciding to restrict supply of subsidised cooking gas to six cylinders per household in a year. The remaining supplies will have to be sourced at market rates. A dealer will get R37.25 for selling each 14.2-kg subsidised domestic cylinder against R25.83 earlier.

For non-subsidised domestic cylinders, the dealer commission has gone up to R38 for every cylinder against R12.17.? Now, a non-subsidised domestic cylinder will cost about R921.50 against R883.5 earlier.

Petrol pump owners have also sought an increase in commission on selling petrol and diesel, but no decision has been taken on revision of dealer commission for them as yet.
