Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Full Candidates List: The Lok Sabha elections will enter the fourth phase on May 13, covering 96 seats across 10 states and Union Territories. This phase will see 1,717 candidates in contention. All 25 constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh and 17 in Telangana will vote in a single phase. Other constituencies voting in this phase are Chhattisgarh (5), Jharkhand (4), Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Odisha (4), Uttar Pradesh (13), West Bengal (8) and Jammu and Kashmir (1).
Previous three phases witnessed voter turnout percentages of 66.1, 66.7 and 65.68, respectively. With the completion of the fourth phase, 379 seats will have completed voting.
Lok Sabha elections 2024: Key Candidates and constituencies
Akhilesh Yadav (Kannauj, UP): Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav aims to secure victory in his family stronghold Kannauj, challenging BJP’s Subrat Pathak. Yadav previously served as Lok Sabha MP from 2000 to 2012, resigning from the Kannauj seat in 2012 upon becoming Uttar Pradesh’s CM.
Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni (Kheri, UP): Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni is contesting from Kheri and eyeing for a third consecutive win. Teni, whose son was involved in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, secured victory in 2019 with 6,09,589 votes; leading by 2,18,807 votes and a vote share of 53.63%. His competitor Dr. Purvi Verma of the Samajwadi Party, garnered 3,90,782 votes and a vote share of 34.38% in 2019.
Mahua Moitra (Krishnanagar, West Bengal): Trinamool Congress’s Mahua Moitra will contest against BJP’s Amrita Roy. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Moitra secured victory with 614,872 votes, surpassing BJP’s Kalyan Chaubey, who garnered 551,654 votes. CPI(M)’s Shantanu Jha received 120,222 votes. Recently, Moitra faced expulsion from the Lok Sabha.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (Baharampur, West Bengal): The Lok Sabha constituency will see a three-way battle featuring West Bengal Congress chief and incumbent MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former Team India cricketer and TMC nominee Yusuf Pathan, and BJP candidate Nirmal Saha. Chowdhury has held the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat since 1999, clinching victory in 2019 by defeating TMC’s Apurba Sarkar.
Asaduddin Owaisi (Hyderabad, Telangana): In Hyderabad, sitting All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi will contest against Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhavi Latha. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Owaisi won with a significant margin of 282,186 votes. He secured 517,471 votes, capturing 58.9% of the total votes, while BJP’s Bhagavanth Rao received 235,285 votes, constituting 26.80% of the vote share.
Giriraj Singh (Begusarai, Bihar): In the fourth phase, BJP’s Giriraj Singh is facing off against CPI candidate Awadhesh Rai from Begusarai constituency. In the 2019 polls, Singh triumphed over CPI’s Kanhaiya Kumar, securing 692,193 votes, accounting for 56.48% of the total, while Kumar garnered 269,976 votes, constituting 22.03% of the votes cast.
Nityanand Rai (Ujiarpur, Bihar): The constituency is a general seat, with the BJP and the BLSP as the key contenders. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, BJP’s Nityanand Rai clinched victory with a margin of 277,278 votes. Rai garnered 543,906 votes, securing a 56.00% vote share, defeating Upendra Kushwaha from the BLSP, who received 266,628 votes, accounting for 27.49% of the total votes cast.
