In a major push for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is set to lead roadshows in Delhi starting this weekend, party sources told PTI.
With Arvind Kejriwal’s absence due to his judicial custody, extended until May 2 following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case last month, Sunita Kejriwal is stepping into a more prominent role within the party to invigorate AAP’s campaign efforts.

“The chief minister’s wife is scheduled to attend her first roadshow in Kondli reserved assembly constituency represented by Kuldeep Kumar who is AAP’s East Delhi Lok Sabha seat candidate in the coming weekend,” a party source told PTI.
Sunita will also participate in roadshows across the remaining three Lok Sabha constituencies contested by AAP in Delhi.

In Delhi, AAP, in alliance with Congress, is contesting the Lok Sabha polls, fielding candidates in East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and New Delhi seats, while Congress is contesting North East Delhi, North West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk seats.
Additionally, Sunita will campaign for AAP candidates in Gujarat and Punjab, with her name listed among the star campaigners for Gujarat.
In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Sunita Kejriwal sought votes for Arvind Kejriwal by distributing pamphlets in the New Delhi constituency.
With AAP’s Lok Sabha campaign encountering challenges after the arrests of its top leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, Sunita Kejriwal has been gradually assuming a more significant role in the party.
In Gujarat, AAP has fielded candidates in two of the 26 Lok Sabha seats – Bharuch and Bhavnagar. Last week, the former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer joined leaders from 28 opposition parties to address the “Ulgulan Nyay Mahrally” in Ranchi.
