The man who invented the ‘Sonu song’ would have never thought that it will go on to become an online sensation. But, as they say, the internet is a funny place and all you need is a spark to give birth to fire. As soon as RJ Malishka dropped her version of the ‘Sonu Song’ in which she took on the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the social media platforms were flooded with different versions of this number turning it into an anthem for dissent. The latest person to join the list is the rebel Aam Aadmi Party leader and former water minister of Delhi, Kapil Mishra.

Kapil Mishra who has been on a 100-day surgical strike against alleged corruption of the Delhi chief minister posted a version of the song on his Twitter account titled ‘AK Teri Kursi Gol’. In this song, Mishra called out Kejriwal and asked the CM why he doesn’t trust himself, doesn’t do anything about the sorry state of infrastructure in Delhi, while also raising questions about Delhi cabinet minister Satyendra Kumar Jain. The song was released by Mishra on August 16 which was also Arvind Kejriwal’s birthday. “ALERT – at 3 pm today – birthday surprise for AK – stay tuned to twitter and facebook update at 3 pm – Kapil Mishra,” he tweeted before posting the full video sometime later.

It is a parody of popular Marathi song ‘Sonu Tuza Mazyavar Bharosa Nahi Kay’ which has gone viral, not just in India but also in Pakistan.
