The Bihar Assembly elections of 2025 have turned into a significant political setback for strategist Prashant Kishor. Once touted as a potential game-changer, his party, Jan Suraaj, failed to gain traction in the polls, leaving all candidates trailing across the state. Out of 243 assembly seats, the party is not leading in a single constituency. Even in the Kumhrar seat of Patna, considered the strongest for the party, Jan Suraaj is running third, highlighting the depth of the defeat.

NDA Secures Comfortable Lead as PK’s Predictions Collapse

While the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) continues to surge towards a decisive victory, Kishor’s pre-election statements are now under scrutiny. Before the polls, he had predicted that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party, Janata Dal United (JD(U)), would secure no more than 25 seats, promising to quit politics if proven wrong. He had also suggested that Jansuraj would either win over 150 seats or fall below 10. The early trends, however, indicate that both NDA allies, JD(U) and BJP, are comfortably ahead, leaving PK’s predictions in tatters.

Political Forecasts Face Harsh Reality

Prashant Kishor had been vocal during interviews and public rallies, asserting that the NDA would not form the government under any circumstances and that a new Chief Minister would take charge. These bold claims, now contradicted by voter trends and JD(U)’s strong performance, raise questions about his political future. Analysts note that while Jansuraj aimed to emerge as a key player, the results clearly reflect the enduring influence of traditional alliances in Bihar politics, with PK’s party failing to resonate with the electorate.
