Two terrorists were neutralised, and a significant cache of arms, including two AK-47 rifles and a pistol, was recovered following an anti-infiltration operation launched by the Indian Army during the nights of September 8 and 9 in the Nowshera region of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the White Knight Corps, the operation, named “Operation Kanchi,” was conducted based on intelligence inputs from agencies and the Jammu and Kashmir Police regarding an infiltration attempt. The search operation took place in the Lam area of Nowshera.
The White Knight Corps posted on social media platform X, stating, “Based on inputs from intelligence agencies and Jammu-Kashmir Police regarding a likely infiltration bid, an anti-infiltration operation was launched by the Indian Army on the intervening night of 08-09 Sep 24 in the general area Lam, Nowshera. Two terrorists have been neutralised, and a large quantity of warlike stores, including two AK-47s and one pistol, has been recovered.” The operation is still ongoing in the region.
This follows a successful operation on August 29, where the Indian Army eliminated three terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to an official press release, credible intelligence inputs indicated likely infiltration attempts from these areas, prompting the Indian Army, JKP, and BSF to lay ambushes along likely infiltration routes. The ambush teams observed terrorist movements in the Machhal sector and engaged in a firefight, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists. Another terrorist was neutralised in the Tangdhar sector.
