Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election 2024 Full Schedule: The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections 2024 will be held in three phases, marking the first elections since the abrogation of Article 370. The last Assembly elections were held in 2014. Voting will take place in three phases: the first on September 18, the second on September 25, and the third on October 1, 2024. The vote counting will be held on October 8.
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly comprises 90 seats, including 74 general seats, seven reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and nine for Scheduled Tribes (ST). The first phase will cover 24 constituencies, including districts such as Pulwama, Shopian, and Anantnag. The second phase will include 26 constituencies, covering districts like Srinagar, Poonch, and Rajouri. In the final phase, voting will be held in 40 constituencies, including Bandipora, Baramulla, and Jammu. The main political parties contesting the election are the Congress, National Conference, BJP, Peoples’ Democratic Party, Apni Party, CPI(M), J&K People’s Conference, and the Democratic Progressive Azad Party. The BJP has released its manifesto, while the Congress has promised five “guarantees” to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
