External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will address the Lok Sabha on Monday regarding recent developments in India’s relations with China during the ongoing winter session of Parliament.

According to the schedule issued by the secretariat, several other Union Ministers are also set to make statements. Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary will update the House on the implementation of the recommendations from the 56th Report of the Standing Committee on Labour, Textiles, and Skill Development concerning the SANKALP Project under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Minister Pankaj Chaudhary will correct a previous response given on November 25, 2024, to an unstarred question from MP Selvaganapathi T.M. regarding the increase in counterfeit currency.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present a Bill to amend several key banking laws, including the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, and the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, for consideration and passing. Similarly, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will introduce a Bill to amend the Railways Act, 1989.

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will introduce the Coastal Shipping Bill, 2024, which aims to promote domestic participation in coastal trade and strengthen India’s coastal fleet.

Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri is expected to move the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill, 2024, for consideration and passing, while Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu will introduce the Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024, which seeks to regulate the aviation industry in India.

Several Union Ministers, including Shripad Yesso Naik, Shobha Karandlaje, and Suresh Gopi, will lay papers in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

The winter session of Parliament, which began on November 25, will continue until December 20. Both houses had brief sessions last week following disruptions over the opposition’s demand to discuss the Adani indictment.
