According to the latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) from Hotels.com, Indian travellers benefitted from the tariff slash in various destinations while booking a four-star and five-star hotel room in 2015. The report revealed that Istanbul witnessed the highest fall in hotel room prices.

For a five-star accommodation, Indians paid INR 10,702 per night while travelling to Istanbul, which was 17 per cent less than what they paid in 2014. Additionally Indians paid INR 7,028 per night for a four-star accommodation, which was 23 per cent less than what they paid in 2014, revealed the report.

Other destinations that saw decreased prices for a five-star hotel room in 2015 included Bali with a fall of 13 per cent, priced at INR 16,589 per night; Kuala Lumpur with a dip of 12 per cent, priced at INR 8,114 per night; Dubai with a fall of eight per cent, at INR 15,727; and Frankfurt with a fall of six per cent, at INR 14,357 per night.

While Istanbul led the list for destinations with the steepest fall in hotel room prices for a four-star accommodation in 2015, Frankfurt ranked second on the list with a fall of 20 per cent, priced at INR 9,334 for a night. Third on the list is Rome with a fall of 19 per cent, priced at INR 8,960 for a night, followed by Florence, ranking fourth on the list, with a fall of 18 per cent, priced at INR 10,766 for a night.
