Launching a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused the Mamata Banerjee government in the state of siding with the accused in the Sandeshkhali case, instead if supporting the “distressed mothers and sisters” of the area.
Addressing a public rally at the ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Sabha’ in Krishnanagar in Nadia district ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi alleged the TMC means ‘Tu, Main aur Corruption’.
“The mothers and sisters have been tirelessly pleading for justice, yet the TMC government has turned a deaf ear to their calls. Despite securing votes under the promise of ‘Maa Mati Manush,’ the current state of affairs in West Bengal has left mothers and sisters in tears. It’s disheartening to see a state where criminals dictate the terms of their own arrests,” the PM lamented.
PM Modi also set a target for the state BJP to win all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal.
“TMC has tarnished the reputation of Bengal, turning every scheme into a scandal. They slap their label on our initiatives and claim them as their own, showing no qualms about exploiting the underprivileged. In the coming years, BJP will foster countless opportunities for investment and employment. Your participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is crucial for this cause. Rest assured, BJP will secure victory in all 42 seats of Bengal,” he said.
“Seeing you all gathered here in such huge numbers is giving me the confidence to say ‘NDA sarkar, 400 paar’,” he told the crowd.
He also said that the TMC is synonymous with atrocities, dynasty politics and betrayal. “People of West Bengal are disappointed by the way the state government is functioning,” he said.
