The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm activity accompanied by hailstorms at isolated places likely over eastern India today. Meanwhile, the western Himalayan region will see a fresh spell of rainfall/snowfall from February 17 to 19.
Under the influence of the anticyclone over the north Bay of Bengal, scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim today. Further, light to moderate isolated rainfall is also very likely over Odisha till February 16.
States like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim will see wet spells till February 15.
Delhi sees shallow fog conditions
Delhi saw shallow fog conditions on Wednesday morning. On Tuesday, the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 22.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. The minimum temperature at 8:30 am was recorded at 8.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
The relative humidity was recorded at 54 percent at 5:30 pm, the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather bulletin said.
Minimum temperature forecast
A gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-4°C is very likely over Northwest India during the next 5 days, IMD mentioned. Meanwhile, Punjab’s Amritsar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 6.1°C on Tuesday.
