Hundreds of students from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on Thursday gathered near the Rajputana Hostel and protested after a female student was allegedly molested and stripped down on the campus by three unidentified men on motorcycle. The perpetrators not only molested her but also recorded the act, the police said.
Students have called for increased security measures and advocated the restriction of outsiders on campus premises.
The incident took place when the victim was out with a friend during the evening hours of Wednesday. Near the Karman Baba temple, three men arrived on a motorcycle and forcibly gagged her after isolating her from her friend.
The accused, during their act, forcibly stripped the woman and captured explicit images and videos. They let her go after 15 minutes but forced her to share her phone number, as reported in her complaint.

“I am a resident of a hostel at IIT-BHU. On November 2 around 1.30 am, I left my hostel for a walk. I met a male friend. We were walking together, a motorcycle approached us from behind with three men,” the student said in her complaint to the police.
“They parked their motorcycle and separated my friend and me. They shut my mouth tightly and took me to a corner, kissed me forcibly, and took off all my clothes, and recorded photos and videos. When I shouted for help, they threatened to kill me. They let me go after 10-15 minutes. When I ran towards my hostel, I heard the sound of the motorcycle. Then, I hid at the residence of a professor, who took me to the security officials…,” the student added.
