PM Modi wished King Charles III a ‘speedy recovery and good health’ through a post on X, formerly Twitter. The 75-year-old king, King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer after he underwent a corrective procedure for enlarged prostates last month. Buckingham Palace announced the diagnosis in the late evening of Monday, February 5, 2024.

It was through an official statement that Buckingham Palace announced the cancer diagnosis of King Charles III. It was mentioned in the official statement that a schedule of regular treatments had commenced for the King and he would be refraining from public-facing duties on the advice of his doctors.

Founder and CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, commented on the post and wished the King a rapid recovery. Other than PM Modi and Elon Musk, Piers Morgan, an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality also wished for his full recovery.

Some reports mentioned that Prince Harry spoke with his father about his cancer diagnosis and would be traveling to the United Kingdom soon. According to media reports, the King personally informed his sons, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex, about his diagnosis, along with his three siblings, the Princess Royak, Duke of Edinburgh and Duke of York.

Upon the demise of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022, Charles assumed the British throne, marking the culmination of his status as the lengthiest-serving British heir apparent. In a televised address at 6 pm on 9 September, Charles expressed his condolences for his late mother and announced the designation of his eldest son, William, as the new Prince of Wales. 

The Accession Council officially declared Charles as the king the next day, with the ceremony broadcasted for the first time. Some notable attendees included Queen Camilla, Prince William, and the British Prime Minister, Liz Truss, along with her six predecessors.
