The houses that allegedly belong to two local terrorists, involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, were demolished on Thursday night in Anantnag and Awantipora, a TOI report said. The houses were of Adil Thokkar and Asif Shaikh, the terrorists suspected of being involved in the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam. Reports suggest that while the residence of Thokkar was blown up using IEDs, the house of Sheikh was demolished with a bulldozer.

In 2018, Thokar had gone to Pakistan legally through the Attari-Wagah border, as per media reports. He is believed to have received terrorist training there and secretly returned to Jammu and Kashmir last year. According to intelligence reports, he helped Pakistani terrorists by guiding them and arranging their supplies during the recent attack.

A day after the deadly terror attack in Kashmir that killed 26 people, most of them tourists, security agencies on Wednesday shared three, four sketches of the suspected attackers. Media reported that the sketches were made based on what eyewitnesses told the security forces.

Officials believe that three to four terrorists were part of the attack. Out of them, two are said to be from Pakistan and the others are believed to be local.

The attack happened in Baisaran, a beautiful green meadow located high above Pahalgam, a popular tourist spot known as “mini-Switzerland” for its scenic views and pine trees. Many tourists had gathered there to enjoy the spring season, but the attackers turned the peaceful place into a scene of horror.

Security forces have asked people to come forward with any information that might help, calling it one of the most shocking terror attacks in the recent history of the region.
