The Election Commission of India (ECI) released the draft electoral rolls fr Gujarat and Tamil Nadu earlier today following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in the respective states.
Citizens can check the updated voter list on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Gujarat/Tamil Nadu for their respective states. In case of any inaccuracy in representation, voters can also raise objections online.
The Commission said the verification phase of the state-wide campaign, which began on October 27, has been completed across all 33 districts and 182 Assembly constituencies. As per the office of the Chief Electoral Officer for the SIR exercise for the state, enumeration forms had been submitted by 4,34,70,109 electors out of a total electorate of 5,08,43,436.
The names of 73.73 lakh voters in Gujarat omitted due to various reasons in draft electoral rolls published by ECI after SIR, an official told PTI.
As per the Election Commission, voters will have one month to submit claims and objections after the draft roll is published. This includes requests for inclusion, deletion or correction of entries in the electoral roll. Voters can submit claims and objections from December 19, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
How to check your name in revised draft voter list online?
Voters can follow the listed steps to check whether their names appear in the draft electoral roll for 2026, and see if they have been marked as absent, shifted or deleted, through the official CEO website.
Step 1: Visit the official website
Go to the Chief Electoral Officer portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll?stateCode=S06
to access the draft voter list linked to the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Step 2: Select the electoral roll year
Scroll down to the ‘Electoral Rolls’ section on the homepage and select the year of revision as 2026 to view the updated draft roll.
Step 3: Choose your district
The page will display a table listing all districts of your state. Click on the ‘Show’ option next to your district to proceed.
Step 4: Select your Assembly constituency
Once the district is selected, a list of Assembly constituencies will appear. Clicking on your constituency will open a Google Drive folder containing booth-wise voter list PDFs.
Step 5: Check your name in the voter list
Open the PDF corresponding to your polling booth and search for your name. The document will also indicate whether your entry is active, absent, shifted or deleted.
Step 6: Search using EPIC number
Voters can also verify their details by entering their EPIC number on the Electoral Search portal at https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in for quicker access.
Step 7: Take corrective action if required
If your name is missing or details are incorrect, you can approach your Booth Level Officer or local election office and submit a request for correction or inclusion within the revision deadline.
Voters can also access the BLO reports of their relevant district by checking the BLO folder mentioned listed on the google drive. Each booth-level PDF includes a summary report prepared by the BLO, detailing the total number of voters and the number classified as deceased, permanently migrated, duplicate or absent.
Election authorities have urged voters to verify their details within the stipulated period to ensure that eligible voters are not excluded and ineligible names do not remain in the electoral roll.
Why does this revision matter?
This intensive revision found that nearly 40 lakh voters have permanently shifted in Gujarat particularly from industrial hubs like Ahmedabad and Surat. If you moved during the pandemic and haven’t updated your address, your name may have been removed from your old location.
