In a horrific incident, two men died on Sunday allegedly after an iron grille fell on them inside the Galaxy Blue Sapphire shopping mall in Noida Extension, reports PTI.
The deceased, both aged 35 years, were residents of Vijay Nagar area in adjoining Ghaziabad district, Additional DCP (Central Noida) Hridesh Katheriya said. They have been identified as Harendra Bhati and Shakeel.
They were walking towards an escalator on the ground floor of the mall when an iron structure fell on them from the fifth floor, resulting in their immediate deaths.
“The local Bisrakh police station was alerted by Yatharth Hospital regarding the demise of two individuals at Blue Sapphire mall, following an incident where an iron grille fell on them from the fifth floor. A police team promptly arrived at the scene,” he stated.
Katheriya mentioned that the families of the deceased have been reached out to, and legal proceedings would commence once a formal complaint is lodged by them.
