Omar Abdullah Jammu and Kashmir Election Results 2024: As counting progresses, trends from the Election Commission of India indicate that the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and Congress alliance has crossed the halfway mark, leading in 47 seats, according to updates released at 10:15 AM. The data shows that between three to five rounds of counting have been completed in most of the region’s 90 constituencies. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently leading in 28 seats. The results will determine the electoral futures of several prominent leaders, including Tara Chand, Muzaffar Baig, Raman Bhalla, Basharat Bukhari, Omar Abdullah, Ravinder Raina, and Yousuf Tarigami, among others.

Budgam, a National Conference (NC) stronghold since 1977, is witnessing a three-way contest between NC’s Omar Abdullah, PDP’s Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, and Awami National Conference’s Aga Syed Ahmad Moosvi. The constituency saw a voter turnout of 62.98% during the September 25 polls. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, vying for the Budgam seat, enjoys strong backing from Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, a respected Shia leader and three-time MLA from the area.

In Ganderbal, a crucial seat in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, 56.97% of eligible voters cast their votes. Ganderbal, part of the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, holds personal significance for Omar Abdullah, who first contested from there in 2002 but lost to PDP’s Qazi Mohammad Afzal.

National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah Tuesday asserted there should be no "fiddling" with the mandate of people in Jammu and Kashmir, and the Centre and the Raj Bhavan must not indulge in any "machinations".

"Transparency should be there. Whatever happens should be done in a transparent manner. There should be no fiddling with the peoples' mandate. If the mandate of the people is against the BJP, then the BJP should not indulge in any 'jugaad' (machinations) or something else," Abdullah told reporters.
