Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday hailed the performance of the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the local body elections, saying the results indicated continued public support for the alliance in upcoming municipal polls.
Speaking to reporters after the declaration of results, Shinde congratulated voters and party workers, noting that the Mahayuti had earlier succeeded in the Lok Sabha, Legislative Assembly and municipal corporation elections. “There are clear indications that the Mahayuti alliance will also be successful in the forthcoming municipal elections,” he said.

He rejected claims that the Shiv Sena’s influence was limited to Thane, saying the party’s presence had expanded across Maharashtra, “from Chandrapur to Bandra”.
He thanked elected representatives, ministers, MLAs and party workers for their efforts and congratulated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the BJP’s performance.
