A coach from the Rajasthan Rifle Association has been booked for allegedly raping and molesting five female shooters, including a minor, over a period of approximately three years.
The complaint said coach Shashikant Sharma, in his late 30s, raped two players and molested three others over the years, Indian Express reported.

During the Green Cup tournament held in Italy earlier this year, the coach had allegedly forced one of the players to share a room with him, police said, PTI reported.
An FIR was filed against the coach on Sunday. He has been booked under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act.

“It has been alleged that he had been committing the offenses for a period of over three years. All the victims are shooters. According to the FIR, the offenses took place in Jaipur as well as in other places where the shooters would go for tournaments,” said DCP (Jaipur East) Gyan Chandra Yadav.
DCP Yadav stated that the investigation is in progress and the coach is yet to be arrested.
“The FIR was lodged by the joint secretary of the Rajasthan Rifle Association. Most of the alleged incidents are from Jaipur, while some of the alleged offenses were committed outside Jaipur and abroad, where the shooters went to play national and international tournaments,” said a police officer.
Malviya Nagar SHO Poonam Kumari said a preliminary investigation indicated that there could be more victims. It was alleged that the coach touched the players inappropriately, she said.
