Shortly after two men fired five rounds of bullets outside Salman Khan’s residence at Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai on Sunday, a Facebook post allegedly from Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of Lawerence Bisnoi, emerged on the internet, claiming responsibility for the incident.

According to a police officer, initial investigation suggests that the shooters fired into the air rather than targeting any individual. It appears the firing was intended to create panic and convey a message rather than cause harm.

In the Facebook post by Anmol Bishnoi, who is wanted for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022 and suspected to be hiding in Canada, the firing was described as a “first and last warning” for Salman Khan.

Surfacing around 11:30 am, the post read, “We want peace. If the only decision against oppression is war, then so be it. Salman Khan, we have done this to show you the trailer. So that, you get an idea of our capabilities and don’t test us,” as reported by the Indian Express.

The post also mentioned the “Lawrence Bishnoi group” along with the names of other gangsters at the end.

One of the suspects involved in the shooting was identified as Vishal, a resident of Gurugram, reportedly working for gang member Rohit Godara, who operates from Canada. The police believe Vishal and his accomplice conducted surveillance on Khan’s residence before the incident.

The motorcycle used in the shooting was found abandoned near a church, registered under the name of a resident in Panvel. Investigation is ongoing to determine if the motorcycle was stolen.

Based on CCTV footage, it is suspected that the accused changed their appearance and took public transportation after abandoning the motorcycle. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act, with the investigation now under the purview of the crime branch.

Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured Salman Khan of police security and support. Earlier security concerns had been raised after threats from Lawrence Bishnoi in a previous Facebook post directed towards Khan.

In September 2023, the police checked Salman Khan’s security because he got threats from Lawrence Bishnoi. In March of the year before, someone sent an email to Salman Khan’s office, threatening him. So, the Mumbai Police filed a report against Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. The report came after a complaint from Prashant Gunjalkar, who often visited Salman Khan’s house and ran a company
