The Ashok Nagar police in Bengaluru has registered an FIR against a YouTube channel, TV Vikrama, following claims by actor Prakash Raj that he received death threats. These threats are believed to be in response to Raj’s comments regarding Sanatan Dharma.
Actor Prakash Raj, known for his outspoken views, filed a formal complaint with the authorities, alleging that the YouTube channel had spread provoking content, endangering his life and the safety of his family.
The controversial video, which garnered significant attention with nearly 90,000 views, contained statements like, “Stalin and Prakash Raj must be finished? What must Hindus do? Your blood does not boil.”.
Raj asserted that the video portrayed him and his family members in a negative light while actively encouraging viewers to harm them. He labelled this as a clear and deliberate attempt to issue death threats and demanded swift action against the YouTube channel owner and any associated parties.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 506 (criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 505(2) (public mischief likely to cause fear to the public).
This incident comes amid a controversy surrounding Sanatan Dharma, which was ignited by Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Prakash Raj had previously stated that individuals aggressively supporting Sanatan Dharma and Hindutva are exploiting Hinduism for political gains rather than representing its true essence.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, triggered controversy by equating Sanatan Dharma with “dengue, malaria, and corona” and calling for its eradication. These remarks led to widespread outrage from the BJP and various right-wing Hindu organisations.
