AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan Arrested: The Enforcement DIrectorate has detained AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan from his Delhi residence on Monday. The arrest involves a money laundering investigation linked to two separate FIRs: one filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding alleged irregularities in the Wakf Board, and another by the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) concerning suspected disproportionate assets.
Khan was taken into custody under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following a search conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at his residence in the Okhla area of Delhi. He had posted on his social media platform X that the ED officials had arrived at his house in Delhi to arrest him.
According to sources quoted by PTI, the legislator has repeatedly ignored at least ten ED summons since his last questioning in April. The news of his arrest was initially shared by the legislator himself on his X account at 6:29 AM, revealing that an ED team had arrived at his home to carry out the arrest.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh also posted a video about the arrest on X. Meanwhile, AAP leader Manish Sisodia criticized the ED’s actions, claiming that their only agenda is to “suppress every voice raised against the BJP and break it,” and alleging that those who resist are subsequently arrested and imprisoned.
